Pre-K through Grade 16 Integrated Data System (KIDS)
The Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 16 (PK-16) Integrated Data System (KIDS) began with the goal to provide seamless and efficient student record sharing statewide to quickly disseminate information to educators to help all students achieve their full potential. The project developed comprehensive data systems encompassing the entire Oregon Education System and became a cornerstone for the ALDER Project.
There are a significant number of data centers that serve School and Education Services Districts (ESDs) throughout Oregon. These range from custom packages installed in only one district to systems serving dozens of districts.

- Phase I - Assessment Activities

The Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 16 (PK-16) Integrated Data System (KIDS) project is developing comprehensive data systems encompassing the entire Oregon Education System. Throughout Oregon there are a significant number of data centers serving School and Education Service Districts, ranging from custom packages installed in only one district to systems serving dozens of districts.
- Phase II - Pilot Project

KIDS Phase II project was a four districts pilot implementation of K-12 Integrated data System. The pilot districts were Portland School District, Beaverton School District, Hillsboro School District, and Eugene 4J School District.
This phase was successfully implemented in July 2007. As of September 2007, the project team is scheduling demonstrations of the new OSTX (Oregon Student Transcript Exchange) application to the pilot districts.
- Phase III - Statewide Rollout

The purpose of Phase III is to fully implement PK-16 Integrated Data Systems (KIDS) project by integrating all Oregon School Districts into a data warehouse. The overall mission remains to provide the department of education and stake-holders with the following:
- A single, accurate, and authoritative source of data.
- Streamline data and reporting from the Pre-Kindergarten through Postsecondary education enterprise.
- Enhance students’ transcripts exchange across schools and districts and to Post Secondary institutions.
- Provide efficiencies for NCLB (No Child Left Behind) & AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress) reporting requirements.
